The Kaluga Plant of Electronic Products (Avtoelektronika) was founded on August 22, 1990 on the basis of the design engineering electronic bureau and workshop № 8 of the Kaluga Factory of Automobile and Motorcar Electrical Equipment (KFAMEE) established in 1941. In November 1992, Avtoelektronika was reorganized into a joint stock company. In 1998, the Quality Management System at the enterprise was implemented and certified from the RW-TUV Company in conformance with the requirements of ISО 9001:94 International Standard. In 1999, JSC Avtoelektronika got the national certificate of Quality Management System conformity to ISO 9001-96.
By the end of 1999 JSC Avtoelektronika has been appreciated as the best supplier of electrical equipment for JSC AVTOVAZ and JSC GAZ. JSC Avtoelektronika came out on top in the contests of Kaluga region “100 best goods of Russia” and “100+1 best goods”.In January 2000, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent to staff of JSC Avtoelektronika a note of thanks for a good work. At a Kaluga Business Association’s appreciation JSC Avtoelektronika got the certificate of business reliability and certificate of business entity.
At the end of 2000, JSC Avtoelektronika was appreciated as the best supplier of electrical equipment for JSC AVTOVAZ and JSC GAZ again. As a result of the regional contest “100+1 best goods” JSC Avtoelektronika became the winner that is presented the engine control units for vehicles of AVTOVAZ and GAZ.
In 2000, AVTEL LTD was founded by JSC Avtoelektronika, and ELCAR LTD. AVTEL LTD engaged in the design, manufacture and supply of components of electronic fuel control systems and ignition internal combustion engines.
In 2003, the existing Quality Management System was improved and recertified in conformance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. As a result of the All-Russian contest “Best Russian Companies” JSC Avtoelektronika was awarded with diploma and winner medal in the nomination “The most efficient working of all types of production resources.”
In 2004, as a result of recertification audit the certificate of ISO 9001-2001 was issued at the enterprise. In 2005, the leadership made a decision concerning the certificate of Quality Management System in conformance with the requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2002, established a working group and developed a work program to finalize the Quality Management System. The electromechanical power steering as a product of JSC Avtoelektronika has been awarded to a silver medal on the IV Moscow international salon of innovations and investments.
In 2004, the holding company JSC Management Company Avtoelektronika was established and became a part of the top five largest companies of Kaluga region. JSC Management Company Avtoelektronika consists of subsidiaries and joint ventures such as JSC Avtoelektronika, AVTEL Ltd., JSC INSEL, Genser-Kaluga Ltd., Kaluga Bank, agricultural enterprises Gremyachevo and Korekozevo, Closed JSC Food Standard, recreation center Lavrovo-Pesochnya and Avtoiskra.
In 2006, the company TUV CERT carried out at the JSC Avtoelektronika the second certification audit which confirmed the Quality Management System conformity with the requirements of ISO 9001: 2000.
In 2007 JSC Avtoelektronika became the winner of the regional contest “The best companies of Kaluga region” in the nomination “The most dynamic development.” That year the output overcame 1 billion rubles, more than 2.2 times higher than the previous year. In the same year JSC Avtoelektronika came out on top in the contests of Kaluga region “100 best goods of Russia” and “100+1 best goods” in the nomination of products for industrial and technical purposes “The electromechanical power steering for AVTOVAZ.”
In 2008, as a result of the recertification audit the enterprise got by the certification body TUV CERT company TUV SUD (the Slovak Republic) the certificate of Quality Management System conformity with the requirements of ISO/TS 16949.
By the end of 2008 JSC Avtoelektronika has been appreciated as the “Reliable supplier” in the electrical equipment group of JSC AVTOVAZ and JSC GAZ. As a result of the regional contest “The best companies of Kaluga region” JSC Avtoelektronika became the winner in the nomination “The most dynamic development.”
In 2011, the enterprise got the certificate of Quality Management System conformity with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009.
